Who Has the Real Power?

So often, we look out at the world and see power as something distant something held by the privileged, by leaders with titles, or by vast institutions. But let me tell you a truth that too many of us forget: Power is only given if you allow someone to take it from you. We, the people, are the source.

Yet, through generations, we have handed over our power, making the privileged feel entitled to it, convincing ourselves that they deserve to keep it. This isn’t just about politics or boardrooms; it lives within our families, our relationships, even in the very depths of our own hearts.

Wherever we are emotionally invested, we risk giving away our power often without even realizing.

Ask yourself: Who has the right to own the most precious things in this world? If the earth was created for all, what gave some the right to claim it, divide it, and take advantage of its people and its gifts? Somewhere along the way, we became convinced that wealth or status was the true measure of power, but that’s a lie spun by those who benefit from our belief in it. The real power has always been wisdom the courage to teach, to learn, to question, and to unite. The right to knowledge, to self-ownership, to shape our destiny these are the gifts we are born with, not privileges handed down from above.

Let’s be honest: The greatest misinformed-ness of power is the myth that it lies outside of us. True power begins within. You are the gatekeeper of your own soul. Numbers, titles, possessions these are not power. You are. Every day, you own the key to your own opportunity and your own freedom. And there are those among us who, even when handed privilege, use their position to lift others upto unlock potential not just for themselves, but for the next generation.

That is the real power: the understanding that when you empower others, you build a world where everyone, not just the few, can walk through doors that were once closed. It’s time to reclaim what was always yours. The power starts and ends with you.
