Judgment of Expectations
This is a deep topic. When we talk about judgment and expectations, each word holds significant power on its own. We all know what judgment looks, sounds, and feels like. We also know what expectations feel like, especially with the pressure from parents, siblings, and even the pressure we place on ourselves regarding life, love, and our aspirations. These expectations might help us feel less insecure in an optimistic way, pushing us to see how we handle pressure.
Combining judgment and expectations allows for many analogies. I often ask: if there were no judgment in the world, what would you do differently? Without judgment, expectations for yourself or others wouldn't matter. It's like seeing your reflection and withholding judgment about who you are. We experience this daily, not just in mirrors, but in our work, speech, attire, and self-presentation. Letting go of insecurities means letting go of judgment and expectations for yourself and others.
There's nothing wrong with wanting better for others, but they must want it too. Optimism plays a huge role in expectations. Personally, if I'm optimistic and believe in myself, my self-judgment and expectations will manifest positivity.
We often judge others based on appearance before they speak. It's important to have belief and optimism, allowing others to surprise us with their happiness, kindness, and willingness to change the world.
Consider this: if you were blind and could only focus on the help and conversation that someone gives you, would you still judge them based on their kindness, and resonance of their voice, rather than their appearance or background?
